Position Summary
Seattle Colleges is looking for innovative and dedicated faculty members, who have a demonstrated commitment to working within a college community that is diverse and serves students from a broad spectrum of socioeconomic and academic backgrounds. The Sustainable Building Science Technology (SBST) Bachelor of Applied Science program is looking for innovative and dedicated faculty members, who have a demonstrated commitment to working within a college community that is diverse and serves students from a broad spectrum of socioeconomic and academic backgrounds. Faculty will teach part-time in a wide range of Sustainable Building Science Technology courses. Successful applicants will have the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, staff and others in a campus climate that promotes cultural diversity and multicultural understanding in an urban environment.
Specific teaching assignments will be dependent on the instructor's background and scheduling. Successful applicants may be invited to teach at South Seattle College.
Candidates should be willing to teach in a variety of formats such as in-class, hybrid, online and varied class times including days, evenings, and weekends according to program needs.
This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by AFT-Seattle.

What you bring as a candidate:

* An understanding of the goals and role of the community college.
* Demonstrated ability and commitment to teach multiple levels of on the topic of study.
* A BA / BS with 5+ years of professional experience with a sustainability or energy efficiency focused design, construction, or facility management role
* A demonstrated commitment to working within a college community that is diverse and serves students from a broad spectrum of socioeconomic and academic backgrounds.
* Innovative teaching methods including the use of technology and collaborative learning.
* The ability to work collaboratively with others in a professional setting.

The Position:
