Job Description:

The South Branch Inn is preparing to open the South Branch Smokehouse and is currently looking for a motivated Prep Cook to begin work in September of 2024 when the restaurant opens!

As a Prep Cook you will be responsible for helping the kitchen team prepare meals and ingredients so that daily operations run smoothly.

COMPENSATION: $11.00 - $14.00 per hour depending on experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow prep lists created by chefs.

  • Basic cooking: Prepare simple dishes like salads and entrees, and reducing sauces.

  • Other duties: Set up workstations, comply with sanitation and nutrition guidelines, and being prepared for other kitchen duties as assigned.

  • Assemble and pack food orders in carry-out containers and bags.

  • Follow all food safety guidelines.

  • Food preparation: Wash and chop vegetables and meat, measure ingredients and seasonings, and parboiling food.

  • Kitchen maintenance: Keep the kitchen clean and orderly by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out the trash.

  • Inventory management: Stock and label ingredients on shelves, and manage the inventory of kitchen supplies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures

  • Able to work quickly and accurately under pressure

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

  • Able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 40 pounds

  • Ability to work as a team environment.

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
