About New York Junior Tennis & Learning For over fifty years, New York Junior Tennis & Learning (NYJTL) has honored its founder Arthur Ashe's legacy by celebrating the diversity of children, encouraging them to reach their highest potential through free tennis and academic programs. NYJTL is the largest provider of youth tennis and education programs in the nation, providing services in 100 unique sites across all five boroughs while reaching nearly 90,000 kids. In addition, NYJTL designed, funded (with NYC), built and operates the Cary Leeds Center for Tennis & Learning in the South Bronx. All NYJTL community tennis and after school programs are offered at no cost to its participants. The mission of NYJTL is to develop the character of young people through tennis and education for a lifetime of success on and off the court. It believes life skills gained through tennis, academics, healthy living, and character development are a catalyst for long-term achievement. Position Summary: The Part-Time Program Compliance Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the completion and submission of all necessary documentation related to the New York State Office of Children and Family Services and the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) School-Age Child Care (SACC) regulations for our elementary and middle school after-school programs. This role includes managing the SACC registration and renewal processes, as well as assisting in obtaining DOHMH-approved permits for summer programs. Building effective working relationships with both internal staff and external regulatory representatives will be a key aspect of this position. Core Responsibilities:
  • Assemble, review, and submit completed FAMS applications.
  • Maintain the Statewide Central Register (SCR).
  • Monitor and honor renewal dates.
  • Ensure adherence to DOHMH standards by monitoring application statuses and securely maintaining records.
  • Communicate effectively with DOHMH personnel, including Directors, Supervisors, and Registrars.
  • Track SCR clearance statuses and update HR and program managers as needed.
  • Schedule and document staff training and certification courses
  • Maintain strong internal and external relationships, including responding to DOHMH requests in a timely manner.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned, ensuring the safety and security of all program sites.
  • Maintain SACC registration records for a minimum of six years and ensure all necessary documentation is submitted to sites.
  • Perform staff files review, coordinating with HR to address any missing documentation.
Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree or Equivalent
  • Ability to work independently and proactively address issues and concerns.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage a diverse range of individuals.
  • Knowledge of DOHMH SACC and Summer Camp regulations.
  • Knowledge of DYCD regulations
  • Knowledge of FAMS (Facility Application and Management System)
  • 2-4 years of experience in regulatory agency licensing, permitting, or related fields.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks within tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ADP.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and discretion.
