Job Description:
Job Summary QSAC is looking for dedicated school nurses (RN) to support children with autism in our preschool and school age programs in the Bronx.The pay rate for this position is $45 an hour.This is a part-time position from 9am to 2pm (5 hours a day / 5 days a week). Schedule follows a school calendar and includes 6 weeks during the summer (July to mid-August). The QSAC preschool and school hours are 8am to 3:30pm.The locations are as follows:
  • School age - Whitestone, Queens
  • Preschool - Douglaston, Queens
  • Preschool/School age - Bronx
Responsibilities Health & Administration
  • Oversee general health issues for students with autism in the schools.
  • Assist in tracking and obtaining annual medical and immunization records.
  • Maintain confidential medical records.
  • Assess student illness when students are sick in school.
  • Contact parents for pick-up and/or medical establishments as needed. (i.e.: ER, Urgent Care, etc.)
  • Supervise students waiting for parent pick-up.
  • Consult with parents and/or healthcare professionals to ensure optimal medical treatments are provided to children being supported.
  • Maintain medical/health related supply inventory.
  • Attends internal team meetings as needed.
  • Other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Work Experience
  • Vaccination required.
  • 1-2 years RN highly preferred. School nurse experience a plus
  • Valid NYS RN license in good standing required.
