In some circumstances, an FBI fingerprint report may be necessary to satisfy the requirement. Once employed, employees must hold and continue to maintain a favorable criminal history background. Random background checks are performed. Credit checks may be performed on candidates/employees who are selected for a position that regularly engages in handling credit cards or other company monies. A Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) may be performed during the hiring process, or as part of a random check. MVR checks are required to meet insurance requirements for those employees operating a university vehicle or participating in any driving activity on behalf of Brenau University, (including operating a golf cart, rented vehicle or one's personal vehicle). Employees who travel must be at least 25 years of age, have a valid Georgia driver's license, and good driving record. All employees who operate university vehicles, who are employed in a sensitive position, or who travel regularly as part of their job responsibilities may be subject to post-hire drug screening and random drug-screening. Candidate should be service-oriented. They will provide a security officer presence to deter and detect criminal activity. Additionally, they will provide services such as escort, lock-outs and safety checks during a tour of duty. They will also issue parking violations as needed, check University property to ensure it is locked as scheduled, and report lights out, and other safety hazards to the proper authority. They must be receptive to the public, faculty, staff and students. They must be able to work as a team and alone as needed. They must complete and pass all necessary training as outlined by the Director of Campus Safety and Security. They must work with minimal supervision once trained. They must be willing to work various shifts to include nights, weekends, and/or holidays as assigned. Brenau has the right to adjust work schedules as needed in the best interest of the university. Shifts may be altered periodically; the employee would be given a 2 week notice of such changes.Position Status: Part-time Staff, as neededMinimum qualifications:* High school diploma or equivalent.* 2 years in Law Enforcement or Security experience preferred.* Post-Certified highly preferred.Requirements:* Due to insurance requirements, employees operating university vehicles must be at least 25 years of age, have a valid Georgia drivers license, and good driving record.* Must hold and continue to maintain a clean criminal history background.Environmental and Working Conditions:Normal environment found in an office and/or educational setting. Some exposure to outdoors and varying weather conditions may be required.Physical Demands and Aptitudes:Physical demands associated with this position include extensive walking. Occasional lifting & carrying heavy weighted materials (up to 50 lbs), bending over, lifting and transporting by hand. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions. Must be able to operate and drive a motor vehicle.Travel Requirements:Driving is required for this position. Must have a valid GA driver's license.Home Campus Designation:This position is an on-ground position in Norcross, GA.Licensure Requirements:If the position you are applying for necessitates that you hold a professional degree, license, or certification, then proof of such professional degree, license, or certification must be provided in addition to this application for Brenau University to consider your application for employment.
