Position: Private School Proportionate Share Educational Service ProviderPosition Type: Part-TimeDepartment: Special EducationLocation: Itinerant - Private Schools Located in WatertownReports to: Assistant Director of Student Services Salary range: Dependent on credentials, up to $75/ hour for a licensed special education teacherSUMMARY: The Private School Proportionate Share Educational Service Provider works with eligible students studying at private schools located in Watertown. The preferred candidate has experience in the following areas: Common Core and MA state curriculum frameworks; effective communication and collaborative relationship building with colleagues and parents; knowledge of special education strategies in teaching literacy and math; is organized, flexible, creative, and a self-reflective with a growth mindset. This is a part-time, up to 18-hour-per-week position that is federal grant funded and not benefits eligible.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor students' academic progress in targeted areas and document student growth and outcomes
- Design and carry out developmentally appropriate, motivating activities as required in accordance with each eligible student's services plan
- Adapt methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs
- Maintain appropriate standards of behavior, mutual respect and safety
- Maintain effective communication with administration, parents, counselors, and related service providers
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid DESE Teacher of Moderate Disabilities preferred
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
- Dual licensure - TMD and content area - preferred
- Experience working with students with a range of disabilities in a school setting preferred
