SUMMARY/PRIMARY PURPOSE: Manage daily operations of The Salvation Army Newton thrift store. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Assist customers and donors as needed or requested. Operate cash register as requested. Keep store neat and clean. Keep clothing racks sorted and stocked daily. Receive donated goods. Offer receipt to donors. Properly sort items. Be familiar with and adhere to store policies. Be familiar with the overall work of The Salvation Army. Report difficulties or problems to Store Manager. Have a general knowledge of clothing, furniture, and other items.MARGINAL DUTIES: Other similar and related duties may be assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: There are no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Training or experience in customer service or retail display preferred. BACKGROUND: Position requires a background check to be completed and all background check results will be reviewed. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: None required. COMPUTER/PROGRAM SKILLS: Ability to operate store cash register and credit card processing machine. Basic computer knowledge needed to access time clock and personal information via a web-based system. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Must pass all applicable background checks.
