Overview

TEMP PART-TIME POSITION: The Receiving Associate is responsible for receiving inbound materials into our inventory, unloading deliveries, inspecting incoming shipments, tagging, and moving the inventory to its proper storage location, and for completing transactions to ensure the accuracy of inventory.

$19-$22/HR DOE

Responsibilities
  • 6-10 weeks work assignment.
  • 25 hours a week- M-F. Must be 5 days.
    • 5 hours per day- flexible on shift time but needs to fall into 7-5pm.
  • Operate forklift and all material handling equipment safely and effectively after MPI training is completed.
  • Operate hoists, pallet jacks, and lift tables upon completion of MPI training.
  • Keep Shipping, Receiving and Inventory areas clean and orderly including disposal of packaging material and garbage throughout the plant.
  • Other duties assigned by management.
  • Unload, unpack, inspect, and sign for incoming shipments delivered to MPI.
  • Verify the accuracy of deliveries against Purchase Orders, receive items into Epicor ERP system, file packing lists, label the items, and move received material into specific bins. Must utilize FIFO principles and maximize use of available storage.
  • Manage the movement of goods and freight, including heavy lifts, forklift operation, cranes, and hoists.
  • Inspect inbound freight to ensure there has been no damage during shipping and for conformance with MPI specifications.
  • Communicate with Purchasing Department regarding any problems with deliveries.
  • Perform inventory transactions and assist with Inventory Control functions when needed
Qualifications
  • Must be proficient in forklift operations with the ability to handle heavy, irregular loads over uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to manage an organized system for receipt and storage of inventory.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees of organizations including fellow workers, engineering staff and supervisors.
  • Above average organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, listen and communicate effectively.
  • Above average computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and Epicor preferred.
  • Have good analytical and problem-solving ability with ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and understand percentages and conversion factors.
  • Must present themselves well to personnel from all areas and departments including outside vendors, contractors, and customers.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Education / Experience: High School Diploma and at least 2 years of experience that is directly related to the duties outlined.
