Job Opportunity: Part-Time Therapeutic Physicist

Location: Staten Island, NY

Position: Part-Time Therapeutic Physicist (1-3 days per week, flexible schedule)

Job Description:

Petrone Associates is seeking a skilled Therapeutic Physicist to join our team on a part-time basis. This role offers a flexible schedule of 1-3 days per week at a Staten Island facility, with opportunities for supplemental income by supporting physics activities at other facilities. Facility staffed by 2 Radiation Oncologists, A Full time dosimetrist and another part time physicist.

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality therapeutic physics services, including treatment planning and dosimetry, Linear Accelerator/CT Simulator and TPS QA, calibration; Accreditation and NYC compliance other activities .
• Ensure the safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy.
• Conduct regular quality assurance checks on equipment and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and other medical professionals to optimize patient care.

Qualifications:

• Master s or Ph.D. in Medical Physics or a related field.
• Certification by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or equivalent.
• NYS License in Therapeutic Radiological Physics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Equipment:

Experience using the following equipment/software is preferred:

• Varian iX
• Elekta Flexitron HDR system
• MOSAIQ Oncology Information System
• Elekta Monaco TPS
