POSITION PURPOSE:
The Part-time TRIO SSS Content Creator/Social Media Specialist will manage social media for the Navarro College TRIO SSS Department, including developing channel strategies, messaging, and regular posts. Platforms to be managed are Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. In collaboration with the TRIO SSS staff, the TRIO SSS PT Content Creator/Social Media Specialist will create, develop, and maintain the TRIO SSS district-wide social media presence.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Manage all social media platforms including responding to messages, responding to comments, post statuses, create statuses including images and copy, analyze insights and demographic responses, promote TRIO SSS and activities through social media.
* Create a social media calendar that supports the vision of Navarro College and TRIO SSS.
* Research key terms that varying demographics will respond to; create ads targeting demographic; update headers and profile pictures to maintain brand; represent brand on all platforms.
* Create full analysis of how social media is performing on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis.
* Research new platforms.
* Create easily accessible and engaging online TRIO SSS workshops on YouTube and Canvas.
* Multitask and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
* Demonstrates the technical skills necessary to use a computer and various software programs to perform job functions.
* Communicates with faculty, staff, and students in person and on the telephone in a courteous and helpful manner.
* Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Bulldog Life and TRIO SSS.
* Collaborate with the Navarro College Marketing Department Social Media Specialist to ensure quality control and consistency with Navarro College Social Media standards.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Software programs, Social Media platforms, good keyboarding skills, and computer literacy skills.
* Familiarity with social media channels, tracking user engagement, and marketing concepts and tools.
* Ability to speak and write effectively and analyze, edit, review, and interpret complex material.
* Ability to comprehend and interpret college regulations and policies and procedures and apply to specific situations in accordance with established procedures.
* Ability to manage competing deadlines, strong organization skills and detailed orientation.
* Experience working in a collaborative, professional environment.
* Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, administrators and staff.
* Experience in working with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva preferred.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
* Associate degree.
* Associate degree may be substituted with One - Three (1-3) years of business or education social media experience, or marketing.
Preferred:
* Bachelor's Degree.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
* Variances from regular working hours may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position; may require nights and weekends.
* Busy working environment with numerous interruptions.
SALARY: $12.-$15. per hour / depending on qualifications
