The Unit Clerk provides organization, scheduling, and processing of all documentation for provider practices.

This position is part time (30hrs/week), Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8:00am - 2:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 444 NW Elks Drive Corvallis, OR 97330

We offer weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be 8am-2pm, Monday-Friday.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Will participate and maintain a culture within The Corvallis Clinic that is consistent with the content outlined in the Service and Behavioral Standards document. To this end, employee will be expected to read, have familiarity, and embrace the principles contained within
  • Assists with processing referrals, Rx refills, pre-authorization for medications and procedures, input of numbers on documentation for posting
  • Facilitates collection of all necessary information required for patient visits. General administrative functions including photocopying, faxing, and processing of incoming faxes
  • Prepares documentation for next day visits
  • Processes new patient record request forms and sends to Chart One
  • Processes forms, i.e., CDRC, OHSU, Doernbecher, Legacy, etc.
  • Responsible for coordinating activities consistent with the effective and efficient completion of drug prior authorization requests relative to assigned clinic departments
  • Reviews lab orders as needed per protocol, based on PA request
  • Plays a key role in maintaining a high level of patient and practitioner satisfaction by providing responsive action to requests and exceptional customer service
  • Serves as a liaison between patients, community pharmacies, and practitioners
  • Improves the quality of care through continuing education. This includes attendance/participation in most in-services/department meetings and remaining current on clinic/department policies and procedures
  • Participates in the orientation and training of new employees

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent years of experience
  • Must be 18+ yrs of age or older
  • 6+ months experience in a medical office, healthcare facility and/or medical insurance company
  • Experience with windows based programs including Microsoft Word & Outlook
  • Ability to work our normal business hours of 8:00am - 2:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of medical terminology

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to work well with providers, clinical staff, and patients.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy, fast-paced environment while maintaining quality of work.
