Assists field crews with maintenance and repairs of parks, including landscaping, equipment repairs, athletic facilities, turf management issues, and addresses safety issues.Operates hand tools, weed eaters, mowers, and other various equipment types used for division.Maintains all equipment, vehicles, tools, etc. in proper, safe, and clean working order.Maintains and repairs picnic tables, fences, benches, trash cans, walkways, playground equipment and other park items.Performs the job in a safe manner and in compliance with policies, procedures, work and safety rules and the employee handbook.Performs other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of uses and purposes of general construction tools and equipmentKnowledge and skill in the use of hand tools, machines and other similar equipment used for divisional purposes. Ability to learn a variety of construction and maintenance processes and equipment.Ability to perform heavy physical labor. Ability to understand & follow simple oral and/or written instructions. - Must have high school diploma/GED
- Must have valid driver's license
- Must have driving record sufficient for coverage by City's auto liability carrier
