SUMMARY Under close direction of team leader or supervisor, uses routers, sanders, and files on components to improve or correct appearance problems. Performs some basic and a few routine operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Performs the following routine operations and simple operator maintenance:
- Material handling
- Hand finishing
- Leveling bar application
- Packing & crating Inspects and measures cut stock to verify dimensions against specifications and maintain quality standards.
- Removes cut stock from machine and maintains production count.
- Drills particle board using fixtures, then installs T-nuts and/or inserts.
- Uses pallet banding and wrapping equipment to package components for shipment.
- Checks and completes paperwork prior to shipment.
- Understands and uses pack scan equipment to verify packing of components and hardware.
- Performs routine maintenance and tooling changes.
- Operates sanding machine to smooth edges of phenolic.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Capable of using routers, files and other shop equipment as directed and trained.
- Some shop or industrial woodworking experience preferred.
- Must be able to organize own work and determine sequences of operations.
- This is an entry level position.
- Must be able to read a tape measure.
