Position Type: Family School Partners/Partner Educator, Family School PartnersDate Posted: 10/21/2024Location: Administration BuildingDate Available: TBDClosing Date: Open until filledPurpose Statement: Family School Partners is a home visitation program that assists parents in their role as their child's first and most important teacher. This Partner Educator position is intended to develop deep, trusting relationships within the Black and Black-Biracial community, serving children and their families. Essential Job Functions
- Provides educational lessons for children birth to 5, engaging parents and role modeling the teaching process.
- Assists and guides parents on child development skills and activities through parent and child pre and post assessments. Initiating and facilitating ongoing dialogue with parents on the overall development of each child.
- Works with parents and their child individually to role model and reinforce basic learning and implement FSP curriculum.
- Completes record-keeping procedures to document family/child learning and performance for each visit.
- Constructs, copies, distributes, and uses educational materials as needed.
- Prepares individualized lesson plans based on each child's needs.
- Supports parent needs by connecting to community resources and providing specific community referrals based on family or child needs, including behavioral management resources and goals for each family.
- Distributes information about community events for families.
- Reports pre and post assessment outcomes to the FSP director, assisting in the administration and correction of program outcomes and certification.
- Participate with FSP special events and fundraising activities including possible weekend events designed to support the FSP mission and improve family community engagement.
- Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all parents and children, including those with disabilities or other special needs.
- May assist in the training of other FSP educators.
- Attends designated professional development training throughout the year.
Additional Duties:
- Keep track of office supplies as needed.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned

Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards Works in standard office and school building environments. Ability to work outdoors during outdoor community event activities. Employee must be able to work with minimal supervision. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
