Responsibilities The responsibilities of a Parts Sales Consultant include:
- Communication with customers on parts status
- Communication with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Be able to read and understand the parts catalog when looking up parts
- Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information
- Reviews body shop estimates to be sure the parts that ordered are correct and pricing is in line with the estimate
- Locates out-of-stock parts from outside source and submits an emergency order, if necessary
- Making sure all internal requests for parts are billed on a service repair order
- Tracking all incoming and outgoing parts for the dealership
- Handling parts payment collection and making sure all parts are billed correctly through the service department
- Packaging and shipping parts back to the manufacturer from time to time, and completing the appropriate record keeping.
- Referring to parts manuals (both hard copy and electronic format) to identify exactly the right part(s) for the make, model and year of vehicles being serviced.
- Advise customer on substitution or modification of part when replacement is not available.
Requirements
- Preferred two years of experience but not required
- Adequate time management skills
- Great communication skills
- Clean driving record
- Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check & drug screen
