Cavender GMC Buick North is looking for a Parts Director to join its team in one of the largest GMC stores in Texas

Job Title: Parts Director

Reports to: Dealer

Functions: The Parts Director is responsible for running an efficient and profitable parts department. Accomplish objectives through the use of proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, security, pricing, merchandising, display and advertising. The Parts Manager must be an investment advisor and profit producer

Responsibilities:

* Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them

* Keep up to date on minimum training standards set by the manufacturer

* Strive for teamwork in all departments

* Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the parts department

* Attend Managers' meetings

* Work with the Service Manager and Body Shop Manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs

* Supervise stock order procedures

* Assist on collecting past due accounts

* Maintain an owner follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business and contributes to customer satisfaction

* Understand and comply with federal, state and local regulations that affect parts operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, etc.

* Review new products, features, accessories, etc.

* Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all parts department staff

* Maintain an accurate filing system

* Direct and schedule the activities of all department employees.

* Provide technical assistance to employees as needed

* Conduct meetings with department employees to discuss activities and problems of mutual interest

* Check all paperwork for correct titles, lien information, taxes, etc.

* Establish and meet monthly objectives

* Have working knowledge of all dealership departments

* Provide accurate information 100% of the time

* Maintain confidentiality of all information concerning company business

* Monitor service employee's payroll records

* Establish and maintain good working relationships with vocational and technical schools to enhance personnel recruitment activities

* Serve as liaison with factory representatives

* Handle all customer complaints

* Control the performance of the department

* Maintain reporting systems required by the factory

* Ensure that all customer parts files are up to date and are readily available for reference

Physical requirements and conditions:

The Parts Manager will work at a desk which is enclosed in the

parts department. This position also requires considerable amount

of walking, standing, stooping, bending, and twisting. Requires lifting up to 50 pounds. Will be required to work both indoor and outdoors during all types of weather.
