At Engineering Innovation, Inc. (EII), the Parts Inspection/Inventory Specialist is a valuable professional responsible for examining and evaluating the quality of various parts, ensuring they meet engineering drawings and established standards. They perform visual and dimensional inspections using precision tools and CMM equipment on shipments coming in to the company and ensure that all orders are delivered correctly. The desired candidate will be someone who has an astute observation ability and is well organized in planning their daily responsibilities. The primary responsibilities are timely receiving and inspecting production parts delivered by our suppliers and accurately updating our inventory system. They must also report any issues with inventory to their manager so problems can be resolved quickly. We are looking for someone with a background in Inventory/Parts Inspection/Receiving, who is detail-oriented and organized. The candidate will be willing to take ownership of the position and provide high-quality service to our Production, Engineering and Customer Support teams in helping us to achieve our company goals.

General Skills and Physical Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Organized
  • Accurate
  • Have a general mechanical aptitude.
  • Able to inspect incoming engineered parts.
    • Read/interpret Engineering Drawings.
    • Able to use calipers, Mic gauges, etc. and compare results to Standard.
  • Able to go up and down stairs with 35 pounds or less
  • Able to drive (or learn to drive) a fork truck
  • Self-Starter – Able to work with limited supervision
    • Take ownership of the position
      • Strong personality
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • General Computer Hardware and Software Knowledge
    • Able to connect to a label printer and generate labels
  • Familiar with Inventory Management procedures and software

Responsibilities

  • Daily receive in shipments
    • Accurately Identify parts and label them
    • Inspect for Quality as per Engineering Prints and Quantity ordered per Purchase Orders
    • Put parts away
      • Perform Cycle Counts on all items received
        • System yet to be created to track cycle counts
    • Update electronic inventory system
  • Quarantine parts when directed by Engineering
    • Tag and/or move to a quarantine location, follow-up as directed.
  • Pick Parts to Assembly Work Orders accurately and timely for production demand
    • Report inventory shortages immediately to purchasing and production coordinator
    • Staging of parts for Assembly team
    • Work with Assembly team during manufacturing
  • As directed by EII Purchasing Coordinator, periodically verify the status of inventory and orders.
  • Manage a system to track WIP to inventory to provide accurate information to the Purchasing Coordinator
  • Perform Daily Customer Support Order Fulfillment
    • Receive order requests from Customer Support
    • Accurately pull parts
    • Package parts for safe shipping
    • When possible, make sure parts are shipped on the same day the order was requested
  • Secondary responsibility may include building sub-assemblies during off-peak times.
