The Parts Manager is responsible for managing the parts operations within the dealership to provide the highest level of external and internal customer satisfaction while maximizing return on investment through parts sales, inventory control, and expense control. Optimizes parts department processes. Attracts, retains, and effectively engages department personnel.

Essential Job Functions:

* Communicate, monitor, and enforce effective Parts Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.

* Delegate daily duties to department employees including but not limited to receipting of parts, stock showroom part shelves, run outstanding transfer report, process stock order parts and verify generic reports.

* Execute Parts Department marketing plan and promotions and monitors to ensure achievement of department goals.

* Maintain an accurate and effective parts inventory control system that includes a perpetual and annual physical inventory with proper counter procedures.

* Submit all parts warranty and return claims within the required time frame to receive maximum credit.

* Ensure all department tools and equipment are in good working order.

* Complete periodic customer calls to promote promotions, deepen relationships and grow sales.

* Monitor open parts tickets, no bin and negative on hand reports, reviews freight recovery charges and oversees any customer discounts.

* Work with the service manager and assistant service manager to ensure business needs are met.

* Complete all required training for Level 1 Certified Parts Professional and any applicable training required for Level 2 Certified Parts Professional, if not already completed.

* Initiate and oversee projects from inception to successful completion.

* Monitor and implement processes to improve workflow and communication between departments and facilitate teamwork across all departments and locations.

* Participate in all department and location meetings.

* Manage direct reports with precision and clarity by planning, scheduling and assigning jobs and work areas to departmental employees according to their experience and skills, clearly communicating expectations, setting goals, providing direction and following up to ensure the company's objectives are being accomplished.

* Ensure growth opportunities by recognizing and obtaining appropriate approvals promoting proficient, qualified and skilled employees.

* Coach, advise and develop employees by utilizing training tools and executing learning paths.

* Responsible for counseling and disciplining direct reports while ensuring all written and verbal communication is documented and given to the HR Department to be maintained in the employee's personnel file.

* Responsible for reviewing, discussing and completing performance reviews with employees in a timely manner.

* Ability and willingness to work extended hours and weekends.

* Follow all safety rules, policies and regulations and keep your workplace clean, orderly and free of hazards.

* All other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, Skills Knowledge and Competencies:

* College Degree with focus on sales or Equivalent Experience.

* 3+ years' experience in parts department operations or related sales management experience

* Experience connecting with customers, maintaining a professional image, establish rapport.

* Knowledge of standard desktop and software applications such as Microsoft, Word, Excel, Outlook, e-mail and internet functions and ability to learn the required business system computer software and programs necessary for this position.

* Conduct business in alignment with the company's Mission, Vision and Core Values.

* Plans out work schedules, establishes priorities, forecasts resource requirements, anticipates change and measures results.

* Sets team structure, organizes, leads and facilities team activities, promotes team cooperation and encourages participation.

* Coaches, trains, and develops employees, gives positive and negative performance feedback that is timely and direct, prompt in addressing disciplinary problems, communicates performance standards and expectations and encourages personal growth and learning.

* Formulates objectives and priorities, implements plans consistent with the long-term interests of the organization, capitalizes on opportunities and manages risks.

* Takes a long-term view and builds shared vision with others, acts as a catalyst for organizational change and influences others to translate vision into action.

* Holds self and others accountable for measurable high-quality, timely and cost-effective results, determines objectives, sets priorities, delegates work, accepts responsibility for mistakes and complies with established control systems and rules.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

* Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods of time.

* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

* Ability to perform tasks related to described essential job functions for duration of the work shift including but not limited to sitting, standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, leaning, twisting and in certain positions driving.

* Duties may be performed in an office and or shop environment.

* Office environments are typically climate-controlled office environments.

* Shop environments may expose you to hot or cold weather conditions.

* No travel required.
