They will accomplish objectives through the use of proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, pricing, merchandising, displaying, advertising, and staff utilization. Parts Managers will direct, coordinate, and evaluate the overall direction of the Parts Department and Parts employees.Major Duties and Responsibilities:Operational Duties:Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Parts DepartmentWork with the Service Manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobsCoordinate Parts operations in accordance with the Company's policies, principles, and proceduresResearch new products and maintain up-to-date product offeringsUnderstand and oversee inventory controlsOversee Outside Parts Sales personnelConduct meetings with Parts employees to discuss activities and problems of mutual interest and to develop strategies for a more efficient operationHandle customer complaints immediately and according to the Company's guidelinesManagement Duties:Strive for harmony and teamwork with all other departmentsInterviewing and hiring of new employees for the Parts DepartmentMotivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all Parts Department staffTrain Parts personnel on products and Department proceduresAssign training requirements for Parts employeesConduct performance reviewsReward and discipline Parts employees as neededPlanning Duties:Merchandise the Parts inventory to meet sales and profit targetsForecast goals and objectives for the Department and strive to meet themInterpret financial statements and apply that analysis to the operation of the DepartmentPhysical Demands and Environment:The physical demands and environmental characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
