A Parts Manager runs an efficient and profitable service department through effective staffing, customer retention, cost controls, achievement objectives, and maintenance of all service records. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them
- Hires, trains, motivates, counsels, and monitors performance of all parts staff
- Works with the Service Manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs
- Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the Parts Department
- Attends managers' meetings
- Directs and schedules the activities of all Parts Department employees
- Conducts meetings with Parts Department employees to discuss activities and problems of mutual interest and to develop strategies for a more efficient operation
- Monitors Parts Department employees' payroll records
- Strives for harmony and teamwork within the department and with all other departments
- Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect the parts department
- Establishes and maintains good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business
- Establish and enforce a pricing policy that balances volume, customer loyalty, and the cost of doing business
- Monitor and adjust inventory to minimize obsolescence
- Handles customer complaints immediately and according to Spitzer's guidelines
- Maintains a safe work environment
- Maintains a professional appearance
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Position Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 1-2 years of parts experience required
- Successful track record
- Team oriented
- Successfully completed MVR, background check, and pre-employment drug screen
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
