Responsibilities:
* Unload, receive, and distribute parts from vendors (via UPS, Fed Ex, Freight trucks, etc) to appropriate Departments.
* Read natural gas meter and take water readings, as needed.
* Issue shop tools, plant keys, sharps, chemicals, safety equipment, manuals, etc. as required.
* Assist mechanics in the plant in identifying parts that need to be purchased.
* Organize and maintain project parts and special orders.
* Release project parts to Mechanics and Contractors.
* Record any items given to contractors.
* Use the Inventory System (Mainsaver) to attach part numbers to Work Orders.
* Conduct cycle counts of on-hand inventory daily (at minimum) and adjust inventory in the System accordingly.
* Conduct inventory counts on specific locations within the Parts Room every week.
* Confirm the parts count before re-order.
* Prevent ordering parts if in stock or orders additional if under stock.
* Act as backup for maintenance purchasing duties.
* Generate work requests for non-maintenance personnel.
* Update and maintain company documents including time sheets.
* Maintain safety work order list.
* Rebuild small parts as required.
* Pick up parts from various vendors.
* Pull and/or stage parts from inventory for mechanics.
* Package parts are to be sent for repairs.
* Maintain inventory in the Motor Cage.
* Keep Parts Room and Motor Cage free of clutter, debris, cobwebs, forklift dust, etc.
* Maintain work area safely and cleanly and report all unsafe work conditions to the Supervisor.
* Responsible for ensuring food safety/quality policies are followed, to report all food safety/quality problems out of their realm of responsibility to personnel with the authority to initiate action.
* Responsible for making sure a good safe wholesome product is produced safely.
* Other duties as required.
Skills and Abilities:
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to read and write fluently in English.
* Ability to work in a fast paced maintenance shop and production environment.
* Preferable experience in maintenance parts inventory or similar - Manufacturing background a plus.
* Computer literate / data entry.
* Ability to use small tools in the repair/rebuilding of machine components.
* Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
* Possess valid Driver's License and own transportation.
