The basic job duties for this position are as follows:
- Meet and assist the customer in a courteous and professional manner providing them with the information they need.
- Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information to customers
- Ensure that incoming inventory is stocked in the correct location.
- Maintain the parts department in a clean and organized manner.
- Accurately price parts and accessories using the proper pricing source and keep the computer system up to date.
- Retrieves (pulls) purchased parts from inventory or if the requested parts are not in inventory determines availability, prepare parts requisition,and submit order as required
- If the part is not in stock, determine availability, prepare parts requisition, and submit an emergency order if requested by the customer.
- Informing customers of any current specials.
- Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
- Receives and ships parts in accordance with company policies
- Displays parts attractively to generate sales
- Solicit assigned accounts by phone
- Issues credit for parts returned, in accordance with company policies.
- Advises Parts Manager of any inventory discrepancies and if areas of the department are not in good condition
- Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Company's Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers and vendors.
- Assists in inventory control to achieve maximum turnover in accordance with established goals
- Ensures that the work areas and customer waiting area are kept clean
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent and prior auto parts sales experience (preferred)
- Eager to improve in a dynamic work environment
- Strong interpersonal and time management skills
- Ability to read/interpret safety and maintenance documents
- Ability to calculate figures/amounts including; discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, %, area, circumference, and volume
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
