Job Description:
Parts Training & Development Specialist Wichita, Kansas - Full Time Productive Resources ( ) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at John Deere's facility in Wichita, KS. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will develop training curriculum and performance improvement materials on more complex products, processes, or systems through contributions and participation in a systematic development process. Collect and organize content from various stakeholders by collaborating with intra- and inter-departmental stakeholders. Facilitate the handoff process from development to delivery. Operate independently or as part of a team from the initiation through the completion of a project. May serve as a mentor/coach for less experienced employees of similar position. This full-time position is indefinite in duration with the opportunity of professional growth, and additional opportunities within our organization. Duties:
  • Develop strong engaging training content to enable dealers to better support customers and improve bottom line performance.
  • Primary focus of work will be on John Deere dealership parts professionals but will also include company personnel and customers.
  • Content will provide solutions to help dealers better support their customers and sell more parts and services, by providing product knowledge and professional skills for John Deere Ag and Turf dealership employees.
  • Determine and develop the appropriate method and media of the training using sound instructional design and adult learning principles.
  • Modify content, delivery, or environment based upon evaluation findings.
  • Maintain or facilitate the maintenance of electronic repository of learning content objects and data files.
  • Will present project information to stakeholders and possibly execute training delivery throughout portions of the year.
  • Ability to successfully manage and execute multiple projects assigned at once, while meeting deadlines.
  • Collect, edit, and produce training media inclusive of video, audio, and still photography (as needs arise)
  • Develop, review, and publish training content for multiple projects.
  • Work with outside vendors as needed for projects to be completed.
  • Review supplied reports and data - analyze training reports, NPS scores, training feedback comments, and summary reports of projects to improve as suggested.
  • Manage storage locations for files, videos, and content to be able to share and make accessible for others
  • Present project details/content/timelines to John Deere stakeholders.
  • May be required to serve as an instructor to deliver training content to Dealer and Deere employees.
  • Ensure clear communication is in place with manager for all content and classes, leaving nothing unknown to manager and key stakeholders.
  • May receive work direction from other stakeholders within the training organization for special projects.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and communicate those opportunities, along with recommendations, to parts training development process owner(s).
  • Up to 15% travel to dealerships/events for photo/video opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Ability to manage meetings with subject matter experts, meet deadlines and understand a variety of products and systems.
  • Degree in Marketing/Communications/Training/Business OR Equivalent experience can substitute for Education/Degree.
  • May be required to present training to larger audience about 25% of the time or more.
  • Capacity to work with different topics and teams, understanding their specific needs and adapting communication styles accordingly.
