What you will do:- Clean and process raw ingredients, preparing mise-en-place and bases for pastry items.
- Ensure high standards of food hygiene, storage, and kitchen cleanliness.
- Complete Food Safe Training certification.
- Prepare consistent, high-quality pastry items per guest orders, following recipe and presentation standards.
- Set up and maintain workstation for breakfast, lunch, or dinner service, prepping only what is needed.
- Operate, maintain, and clean kitchen equipment such as fryers, stoves, and mixers.
- Label, rotate, and store perishables properly, checking stock levels and noting shortages.
- Minimize food waste, adhering to food cost and usage policies.
- Communicate with the Pastry Chef, contributing to menu development and recipe creation.
What you bring:- Culinary education is strongly preferred but several years of commercial cooking experience may substitute.
- Previous experience in a pastry kitchen, ideally in a high-volume or fine dining environment.
- Strong understanding of pastry techniques, including baking, decorating, and plating.
- Attention to detail, with a commitment to producing high-quality pastries and desserts.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Eligibility to work in Canada without sponsorship.
