Trustpoint.One is pleased to be partnering with an international law firm's Austin, Texas office in their search for an Patent Agent with background in chemical engineering. Experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred. Candidates must be registered with the USPTO.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, draft and file patent applications.
- Perform research and analysis, and provide guidance on a variety of patent and IP-related issues.
- Conduct database searches for patentability and freedom to operate analyses
- Analyze patent and scientific papers and documents to assist patent attorneys on patent prosecution, counseling, and litigation
- Draft patent applications and responses to office actions; and advise lawyers on technology issues in preparation for depositions.
Skills
- Proven working experience as a patent agent
- Highly organized with ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail
- Extensive computer and database expertise
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, postgraduate degree is preferred
