About the Patent Agent/ Technical Advisor Position

WEITZMAN | IP, a small, but highly specialized intellectual property law firm, is seeking a full time Patent Agent or Technical Advisor in its Roseland, New Jersey office (not a remote position). We offer competitive compensation and an excellent benefits package.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a full-time Patent Agent or Technical Advisor having a strong Computer Science background to assist in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the financial services, software, computers and electronics fields. Candidates must have an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, and must possess strong analytical and written/verbal communication skills. Registration to practice before the USPTO is preferred, but willing to consider training an exceptional candidate with strong computer science background who wishes to become a Patent Agent or ultimately attend law school to become a Patent Attorney. Financial services background or experience is a plus, but not required. Salary to be based upon candidate's experience.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Computer Science
• Candidates must have excellent academic credentials and communication skills
• Registered Patent Agent or desire to become one
• Prior patent preparation and prosecution experience preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and research skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Candidates should be comfortable working directly with clients
