Here, you will prepare and prosecute patent applications and have responsibilities pertaining to a range of patent protection issues (e.g., patentability and infringement opinions, patent portfolio strategy, etc.) while working closely with clients, inventors, and other firm attorneys. There will also be the possibility for trademark and PTAB work.Attorneys and agents at this firm operate under high quality standards, which has resulted in obtaining clients who value attorneys and agents who can write polished, well-written patent applications while also grasping the commercial needs. This firm has an excellent distribution of clients, thus, you will have the ability to deal with reasonable variety, dictated by your technical capabilities.Requirements: Minimum BS in Engineering (e.g. mechanical, biomedical, materials, electrical, aeronautical) or Physics. An MS or PhD would certainly be valued.Any applicable prior engineering experience (e.g., medical devices and instrumentation, materials engineering, mechanical equipment and machinery, software engineering, electromechanical, optics, imaging systems, industrial controls) would also be valued.JD, State Bar, USPTO Bar with a solid academic background.At least 2 years of full-time patent drafting and prosecution experience within a respected law firm.Additional Notes for Candidates:All fees are paid by client firms and companies.
