We are working with a large southeastern law firm with a growing national practice on their search for a highly qualified Patent Prosecution Attorney to join their Intellectual Property group.
We are looking for an attorney with a PhD in a life sciences discipline, such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Biosensors, Medicine, Medical Devices, or Metallurgy, and a minimum of 5 years of patent prosecution experience. Candidates must be registered and in good standing with the USPTO. We are particularly interested in those with expertise in enzymes, electrochemical or amperometric analyte sensing, RNA/DNA/Aptamer signal transducers, membranes and redox mediators, polymer chemistry, and inorganic/steel chemistry.
In this role, you will analyze and evaluate cutting-edge scientific inventions, draft and prosecute patent applications, and conduct thorough research on diverse technologies. You will collaborate closely with inventors and colleagues to translate complex scientific concepts into clear and concise patent applications and Office Action responses. Additionally, you will prepare novelty and freedom-to-operate opinions, conduct due diligence work, and mentor junior associates to achieve optimal client outcomes.
