Description & RequirementsWomble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP, a transatlantic law firm, seeks a Patent Coordinator for their North or South Carolina office. This role will support members of the Intellectual Property Practice Group focused on patent prosecution. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and file US patent applications
- Provide legal administrative support for patent prosecution (working with attorneys and patent agents to prepare and file prosecution papers)
- Attend to various patent-related formalities (Powers of Attorney, responses to pre-examination notices, papers to make corrections, etc.)
- Manage collection and filing of formal documents (inventor declarations, assignments)
- Prepare and file Information Disclosure Statements
- Review Patent Term Adjustment determinations, proofing patents, filing Certificates of Correction, and similar activities
- Special projects as needed (handling portfolio transfers, client reports, etc.)
- Enter billable time, docket management, and file maintenance.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree and at least one to two years of patent-related experience preferred.
- The candidate must have excellent computer skills and a strong knowledge of standard office software (e.g., MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat).
- Must have great attention to detail and a disciplined eye for quality checking document accuracy.
