Walpole Public Schools is seeking a full-time Pathways Assistant Coordinator at Walpole High School for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year.Innovation Pathways Background: Innovation Pathways is an effort by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to support industry, education, and workforce systems to collaborate to build systematic solutions to provide career opportunities in high-demand fields. Students will have access to the same high-quality academic programming that Walpole High School is known for, in addition to increasing opportunities for all students to access high-quality career and work-related experiences during high school. Role: Works closely with the Pathways/Work Study Coordinator to support student success. Interacts with area businesses and schools to provide internships, apprenticeships, mentoring, and career opportunities for high school students to support Innovation Pathways and Work Study students; does related work as required. Prepares and delivers seminars on study and career skills, career exploration, and future planning (MyCAP). Reports to: School PrincipalAbilities to:
- Establish and maintain relationships with school faculty, students, families, and community members of diverse backgrounds
- Effectively communicate with all stakeholders on a student's team
- Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Regularly reflects on practice, seeks and responds to feedback, and demonstrates self-awareness and commitment to continuous learning and development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with a focus in School Counseling or related field
- Demonstrated experience, understanding, and ability to work with high school students
- Knowledge and understanding of local business and trade community
- Relevant career experience, such as teaching or tutoring
