If you're eager to make a meaningful impact and work with diverse communities, this is the opportunity for you!

Position Overview:

As the Pathways to Homeownership Specialist, you'll collaborate closely with the Pathways to Homeownership Manager to expand Habitat for Humanity's efforts to close the homeownership gap and increase opportunities for underserved communities. You'll play a pivotal role in this transformative work, leading outreach initiatives, hosting educational workshops, and providing one-on-one housing counseling services. * Personalized Housing Counseling: Provide comprehensive, one-on-one counseling to guide individuals through the homebuying process, from understanding key players to reviewing mortgage documents, purchase contracts, and closing steps.

* Foreclosure Prevention: Help homeowners navigate financial challenges by analyzing their situation and identifying options like loan modifications or repayment plans to avoid foreclosure.

* Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with the homeowner services team to track progress, document interactions, and maintain client confidentiality using our CMS system.

* Certifications & Growth: HUD Certification is highly valued, but if you're not certified yet, we'll support you in becoming certified within your first 60 days. Ongoing training and professional development are a key part of your growth here!

What You Bring:

* A deep commitment to helping communities achieve homeownership and financial independence.

* Knowledge of the mortgage process, with the ability to break down complex financial information into clear, actionable steps.

* Strong communication skills and the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds in a patient, empathetic, and solution-oriented manner.

* An analytical mindset to assess financial conditions and make recommendations for overcoming credit challenges, purchasing a home, or retaining it in times of hardship.

* Confidence in speaking before groups and teaching workshops that inspire and empower participants.

* A proactive, organized approach to managing time and juggling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

* 2+ years of experience in outreach, homeownership counseling, or mortgage lending preferred.

* A working knowledge of mortgage servicing, credit building, and financial counseling.

* Willingness and ability to earn your HUD Housing Counseling certificate within the first 60 days of employment (we've got your back on this!).

* A valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance.

Why You'll Love Working Here: This isn't just a job-it's an opportunity to be part of something bigger.
