DescriptionPatient Access Call Center RepresentativeFull Time / 40 hours per weekUnder the direction of the Patient Access Manager, performs the tasks of gathering information and scheduling tests and procedures for ancillary departments and specialty physician appointments. Prepares and distributes messages, schedules, and information to ancillary departments and specialty physicians. This position will check medical compliance for outpatient tests and insurances that require meeting medical necessity. Contact patients regarding pre-registration and provide the patient testing preparation information when appropriate. Coordinates receipt of testing orders from physician offices. This position will register patients, collecting financial information and patient-pay obligations. Obtains pre-authorizations from physician offices or insurance companies for outpatient services, surgery patients and bedded patients. Medical terminology, knowledge of testing procedures desirable.Experience:Prefer previous registration and scheduling experience in physician office or hospital setting. Data entry skills emphasizing accuracy. Must be able to handle multiple tasks with differing levels of priority. Excellent customer service and phone skills with the ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner with patients, visitors, ancillary departments and physicians/physician offices
