DescriptionDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: PRN Patient Access Representative for Mt San Rafael Hospital Clinics, must be able to work varied shifts including weekends if needed, in any of our clinic departments: RHC, Orthopedics, Women's Health, General Surgery. Must have good customer service skills and be willing to cover in other areas of the clinic as needed. Receives patients and guests at the facility ensuring patients are recorded in the HMS system timely, accurately, and completely, collecting any co-pay/co-insurance/deductible that may be applicable, allowing all subsequent departments to process their work meeting customer service and quality goalsRequirementsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Greets guests in timely and friendly manner. Oversees lobby areas explaining wait times and offering assistance. Obtains information from patients (or representatives) that is complete and accurate. Explains processes and forms as required for type of service. Obtains signatures and communicates to department staff for follow up in finalizing all registrations. Verifies patient insurance, checks registration orders for consistency and follows up with physician's office for clarity. Escorts patients to destination. Complies with all organizational policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); previous healthcare patient access experience preferred. Experience in Customer Service. Intermediate computer skills required. Ability to calculate mathematical equations without the use of a calculator. Candidate must have knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook Express. Complete skills competency test with minimum test score of 85%.MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to read and understand Basic EnglishAbility to lift 30% of your body weight.Continuous movement throughout the hospitalAbility to communicate verbally and in writingAbility to interact with all persons in a professional manner in stressful situations.Ability to maintain matters of a confidential nature and to remain calm in crisis situations.
