BASIC FUNCTION: The Patient Access Scheduler the primary interface between patients and medical staff at Grand River Health. They will provide excellent patient service by managing phone scheduling by answering calls, scheduling appointments and triaging inquiries. They handle sensitive patient information when necessary and maintain professionalism while ensuring patient needs are prioritized. The ideal candidate will foster a welcoming environment and effectively communicates with both patients and colleagues.
RESONSIBILITIES:- Offer exceptional patient experience in the phone scheduling office of Grand River Health.
- Responsible for answering phone calls and scheduling appointments and triages phone calls as necessary.
- May conduct patient pre-certification to ensure coverage for appointments and medical care.
- Perform duties related to scheduling appointments via phone, making appointment reminder calls and taking messages for the medical staff.
- Maintains positive, professional, and helpful demeanor in carrying out duties and always puts patient needs first.
- Offers a friendly environment for scheduling patient appointments and relaying messages to providers.
- Serves as the first point of contact for patients and portrays the organization in positive, professional light.
- Communicates continuously with patients and coworkers.
- Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience in clinic or hospital setting preferred. Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.
SALARY INFORMATION:- $17.50 - $21.38 Dependent on experience may vary outside this range
- Compensation may vary outside this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience
