The Patient Access Specialist is responsible for helping our patients get scheduled to see their doctors in the least amount of time.

  • Handle incoming and outgoing calls including but not limited to new patient orientation, department scheduling, and asking to speak with a clinician.
  • Document patient information within various electronic systems.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.
    • High School Diploma or GED with 1-2 years of experience working in an administrative support role in a customer service, healthcare environment and/or in communications required.
    • Must be available to work as needed based on current demand.
    • Must be able to use computer/phone for extended periods of time.
    • Outstanding ability to use multiple software programs and equipment in a fast paced environment while assisting others.
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal service skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team required.
    • Demonstrated initiative and self-accountability with exceptional organizational and time management skills.
    • Complying with D-H policies and standards for all actions related to their role
