  • Patient Accounts Manager is responsible for both Inpatient and Outpatient Billing areas, advising Director and Supervisors on the day-to-day implementation and interpretation of changes to ensure that all policies and procedures are being complied with. Implement and ensure timely and accurate compliance with appropriate billing procedures insuring that all accounts receivable records are billed and followed up according to the corporation's policies and procedures. Responsible for staying abreast of all latest developments and trends in our newly implemented Epic Financial System.
  • Actively participates in all Inpatient and Outpatient meetings, WebEx training and various corporate projects given by RCS/Central Office. Engage in personally training the Patient Accounts, Supervisors and Billing, follow up and Specialty billing staff.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing their work. Oversee billing and collections operations to ensure consistent application, interpretation, and implementation of policies and procedures for Inpatient and Outpatient services. Ensure timely submission of Medicare claims to receive PIP payments and avoid penalties and takebacks.
  • Oversees the billing for SPARCS (Statewide Planning and Research Cooperative system for all Inpatient Hospital stays and Outpatient Services (Hospital Surgery, Emergency department and Outpatient visits)
  • Review, monitor, analyzes and reports revenue data monthly, quarterly and annually and more often as needed. Identify unusual trends and issues that can impact revenue loss. Offers suggestions for resolution and conducts special projects to capture loss revenue.
Minimum QualificationsA Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field; and , Four (4) years of experience in accounting, finance or business administration of which two (2) years must have been in a responsible and managerial capacity in areas normally related to a hospital, medical center or health care facility; and , Two (2) years of experience as indicated in Item #2 in areas related to the management of patients accounts or credits; or A satisfactory equivalent combination of experience, education and training.NYC Health and Hospitals offers a competitive benefits package that includes:
