Job Summary:The Patient Account Specialist provides clerical and reception support for the Business Office. Performs all duties and responsibilities in such a way as to demonstrate and support the hospital's goal of Service Excellence in patient care by facilitating positive client and employee relations and supporting department goals. Provides care/service in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies.Job Duties:
- Provides clerical and reception support for the Business Office including; answering phones, greeting patients and visitors, operating office equipment, and doing hospital/ clinic mail
- Coding, admission paperwork, and billing (all aspects, including entering charges, payments, billing submission, electronic transmittals, follow-up on insurance claims, patient statements, and month/year-end reports).
Schedule:Monday-Friday: 7 AM-6 PM (rotating open and closing shifts)One Saturday clinic shift per month (8 AM to 12 PM)Education and/or Experience:High school diploma or GED; medical and billing background preferred
