Essential Duties and Responsibilities:1. Communicates with patients in a courteous and professional manner face to face and on thetelephone to ensure all interactions work towards a goal of patient satisfaction. Promotes apositive approach in all interactions and assures patients have anexcellent experience inevery exchange.2. Has the ability to communicate professionally and efficiently to employees, patients, andproviders.3. Promotes Team-based Care Model within Care Teams, and has the ability to communicateand collaborate on patient issues and needs.4. Navigate through patient charts and documents to find requested Information for patients andexternal providers.5. Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments in JHC electronic health record. Must beknowledgeable of all scheduling components of each JHC department.Administrative Duties:1. Attends and participates in staff and other JHC meetings as required and/or as requestedby Lead PAS or Associate Director of Patient Access (ADPA).2. Involved in the JHC community as a member in a: committee, taskforce, leadership class,and or volunteer.3. Functions as Lead PAS in absence of Lead PAS.4. Serves as mentor for new hires and can assist Lead/Trainer with orientation while ensuringthe completion of all necessary competency checklists.5. SPAS may be assigned other administrative duties by ADPA as needed for projects.6. Assists staff with completion of red folder documents/ TE's/ actions promptly.7. Assists patients with the completion of the Reduced Fee application process, clearlyunderstanding the process and following consistently.8. Must be proficient with documentation in patient charts via actions, telephone encounters orgeneral/billing notes.Competencies:1. Less than 2% insurance errors.2. Meets goals while working in a face paced environment that requires the ability to multitask.3. Must be proficient at typing quickly and accurately.4. Compliant with PowerDMS and Relias deadlines.5. Physical attendance is an essential element of the job and necessary to perform the essentialfunctions of the PAS positions.6. Must be able to stay calm and follow outlined procedures in moments of patient relatedcrisis.7. Performs other duties as assigned.Other Functions:1. Have at least 1 year of previous Front Desk/ Call center experience2. Must be computer literate and able to work independently with flexible working hours.3. Excellent communication and listening skills.4. Ability to perform well in team settings.5. No more than 1 unexcused absences per quarter.6. History of requesting time off with sufficient notice.7. Must not have had any progressive discipline in the last year.8. Must have received a successful rating on their most recent EPE.Physical Demand and Working Environment:Fast paced office setting with travel to other offices often. Lifting and/or exerting force up to 25pounds occasionally, with frequent moving of objects. Work requires speaking, sitting, bending,walking, standing, hearing, and stooping, kneeling, and repetitive motion with certain activities.Extended hours of computer usage. OSHA low risk position.
