Job Description:
This is a Temporary Full-time position working M-F, 8am-4:30pm. Weekly earned wages is an option for this position.Job Purpose or Objective(s): The Patient Benefit Coordinator conducts eligibility screenings and assesses patients financial requirements for third-party insurance options. You will report to the Manager.Primary Tasks:1. You will interview and patients to determine eligibility for resources.2. You will update patient's records after each screening.3. Educate patients on available insurance options, provide quotes, and help with the application and referral process.4. Navigate the patient through the ACA/Marketplace application and ensure the necessary documentation is submitted; assist applicants on coverage and changes to coverage.5. Review program eligibility guidelines, coverage options, and Native American policies and benefits.6. Help patients in determining the program and assistance needed such as Patient Relations, Emergency Services, Choctaw Referred Care, or Housing.7. Advocate for patients, screen uninsured patients for alternate resources, and educate patients on the process of obtaining coverage.8. Audit patient charts for accurate insurance coverage and make correction in the patient's Electronic Health Record and sequence insurance.9. Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned.Required Education and Experience:* High school diploma or equivalent* Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid., private insurance and third-party billing* Knowledge of HIPAA and the importance of confidentiality* Two [2] years of medical office experienceAbout the Choctaw NationThe Choctaw Nation is the third-largest Indian nation in the United States, with over 200,000 tribal members and more than 11,000 employees.
