Medical AssistantJob descriptionFull-time certified Medical Assistant to join our upscale and growing Plastic Surgery practice.The Plastic Surgery Group in Montclair is seeking a Medical Assistant for multi-physician plasticsurgery group with work experience in plastic surgery/ dermatology and /or surgery center required. Ideal candidate is reliable, self-motivated, independent, friendly, highly organized, professional appearance and positive attitude.This positions primary responsibilities include:
- Greeting patients and escort them to the exam rooms.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by the physician
- Remove sutures/staples, change sterile and non-sterile dressings.
- Sterilize medical instruments
- Restock exam rooms
- Arrange for laboratory services
- Explain treatment procedures to patients
- Answer medically related patient callsEducation Requirements/ Skills:
- Proof of high school graduation or GED*
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Certification by AAMA or AMT required*
- Must have 2-3 years -experience in Medical Assistant preferably in plastic surgery and/ or dermatology
- Strong customer service ethic
- Computer and EMR knowledge
- Experience with post-operative care
