Job DescriptionPosition Description:Nurses work in collaboration with physicians to provide patients with care, education, and support. Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients. May advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management. Coordinating and assigning duties to other health care personnel, such as licensed practical nurses, nursing aides, and patient care associates.
Detailed Tasks- Facilitate Telehealth encounters as needed.
- Administer total care (bed bath, partial or complete).
- Assist with patient's hygiene - including skin care, mouth care, shaving, etc.
- Transfers patients - in and out of bed, stretcher, and wheelchair.
- Positions patients and carry out a range of motion exercise.
- Prepares patients for meals and assists with feeding as needed.
- Assists with unit patient admissions and transfers.
- Measures & records patients' vital signs (such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, etc.) in the electronic health record.
- Perform EKGs as required and follow outlined procedures for submitting abnormal EKGs.
- Perform dry sterile dressing changes and assist with other patient treatment.
- Administers hot and cold applications to patients, under supervision.
- Perform blood draws and urine testing.
- Chaperone staff in all clinical areas when requested.
- Perform tasks consistent with the PCA job description.
