Job Description:
The Barnabas Health Behavioral Health Center with Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus Behavioral Health Services constitutes a freestanding 100-bed acute care psychiatric facility which provides inpatient and intensive outpatient programs for adults and older adults diagnosed with psychiatric and dual disorders.Job Overview:The Patient Care Associate (also referred to as PCA) is a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team. The PCA works under the direct supervision of the registered nurse to provide care to patients with diverse psychiatric illnesses. All methods of practice and/or work performance shall conform to written established hospital policies and procedures and be carried to the highest achievable level of competence in a manner demonstrating concern and consideration.Qualifications:Required:* High School Diploma or GED* Successful completion of all Orientation Programs* Minimum of one-year experience as a PCA working with geriatric patientsPreferred:* New Jersey State certification as a PCACertifications and Licenses Required:* BLS Certification from American Heart AssociationScheduling Requirements:* 12-hour day shifts* Per DiemEssential Functions:* Take and record vital signs* Assisting patients with ADL's* Assists with nutritional needs of patient* Completes personal hygiene for assigned patients* Provide one to one and group supervision of patients* Transports patients to ancillary departments and emergency roomsChoosing RWJBarnabas Health!RWJBarnabas Health is the premier health care destination providing patient-centered, high-quality academic medicine in a compassionate and equitable manner, while delivering a best-in-class work experience to every member of the team.
