License: Not specified Certifications: - BLS (American Heart Association)- Certificate of Medical Assistant training- CPI or PMCS certification- SEL and SCR background checks Must-Have: - EKG skills- Venipuncture experience Job Description: - Function as a member of a multidisciplinary team providing a full range of services to patients admitted to the inpatient psychiatry service.- Participate in patient admission and orientation to the inpatient unit.- Assist patients with changing, review unit rules and regulations, and provide orientation to room and unit.- Assist with the preparation and updating of the Nursing Care Plan and Interdisciplinary Treatment Team Plan.- Help with therapeutic interventions to implement established plans.- Perform selected direct care duties including therapeutic intervention, vital signs taking, health-related data collection, simple dressing changes, and personal hygiene tasks.- Assist with concrete services, such as transportation and obtaining clothes.- Lead and co-lead various patient activity groups, both recreational and therapeutic.- Assist with preparation and implementation of discharge plans, facilitating patient discharge.- Act as a patient escort both on and off-site for various activities and tests.- Intervene with physical restraints of violent/aggressive patients and care for patients in seclusion/restraint according to departmental policy.- Initiate CPR when necessary and assist the nursing team in emergencies.- Practice and maintain infection control.- Maintain an assigned patient caseload providing ongoing supportive counseling to both patients and families.
