Patient Care Associate / Unit Coordinator# Boulder Community Health, Boulder, CO 80303 $17.00 - $24.75 an hour - Part Time,. Days. 12 hours a week.# +$2.50/hr for weekend shifts.# Boulder Community health is seeking a Patient Care Associate / Unit Coordinator who erforms duties and tasks that assistthe caregivers and promote effective departmental functioning. #Direct patient care functions are under the direction of the RN. Benefits: #403(b)Retirement plan# #Education assistance program #Staff Support Initiatives such as Sound Baths, Meditation, Massages, and Reiki #Free one-on-one retirement planning sessions# #Employee Assistance Program offering 8 free, confidential counseling sessions for you and your family Qualifications# #High school diploma or equivalent preferred #Nurse aide training preferred #CNA certification preferred #1 year hospital or other health care experience preferred Responsibilities #Answers phones with name or title and department. #Transcribes and communicates physician orders, including notification of appropriate staff and preps. #Communicates problems to service coordinator promptly. #Work with service coordinator when work load reaches a peak to get assistance and establish priorities. #Offers assistance and provides direction to visitors, patients, physicians, and families in a concise, informative manner, maintaining a positive and courteous tone. #Reports off at the end of the shift or when leaving the department. #Compiles new charts, maintains current charts, and enters patient information on charts and/or Kardexes. #Demonstrates confidentiality with patient and department issues. #Appropriately files patient reports. #Orders supplies for unit, i.e. food, equipment, (chart forms) as outlined on assignment sheet. #Appears well groomed and observes the hospital dress code. #Wears identification badge while on duty. #Maintains a professional appearance. #Reports to work on time at the start of assigned shift. #Does not abuse or take advantage of sick time or personal days. #Provides proper notification and advance notice for absence or tardiness. #Places call light within reach of patient, bed in low position and side rails up. #Orients patient to use of bed, call light, television, and telephone. #Assists in preparation of patient rooms for admission and transfers. #Maintains a neat, uncluttered, well-stocked central station, nursing unit, and patient rooms. #Participates in stocking and verification of supplies in patient room and care areas; this includes bedside carts, linen cabinet, blanket warmer, and procedure carts. #Cleans rooms, makes beds, and appropriately handles hazardous and biohazard waste. #Provides patient care under the supervision of an RN and in collaboration with the clinical lead. #Patient care duties include bathing, positioning, mobility, elimination (to include bedpans and recording output), and assisting with admissions. #Assists in responding to call lights, blue phone and other COR zero lights. #Assists in the transport of patients specimen and supplies, in set-up of invasive procedure: invasive line tubing, chest tube; in point-of-service testing; one touch. #Provides basic respiratory care such as spirometry and nasal O2.
