Manhattan Gastroenterology is looking for a Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. We are looking for someone who is dependable, likes taking on challenges, and meets deadlines.Responsibilities:Under direct supervision, provides administrative and secretarial support related to coordinating patient care within the clinical practiceEducates patients about the patient portal and encourages patient participation.Assists in explanation of pre procedural instructions.Recommends improvements to workflows to ensure maximum schedule utilizationReceives and responds to patient inquiries. Resolves non-clinical inquiries and complaintsParticipates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.Answer incoming phone calls to screen patients, answer questions, or schedule appointmentsMake outbound phone calls to patients, pharmacies, or insurance companiesEnsure that providers are scheduled for best use of time (Optimized)Support clinicians by responding to telephone encountersSchedule patient follow-up appointments as requestedReach out to patients who are late to tele visitsSend referral letters to referring physicianMonitor and complete tickets via e-Clinical Works support portalRespond to patient inquiriesTroubleshoot minor technological issues or escalate them to our helpdeskLiaison between call center agents and medical assistantsEssential Functions:Medical office reception experience, including:Use of an Electronic Health Record (EHR) in your daily workAnswering phones and multitasking in a fast-paced clinical practiceScheduling patient appointmentsUnderstanding of patient privacy rules and experience in a HIPAA-compliant practiceStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent customer ServiceUnderstanding of general medical practice workflowsAbility to multitask accuratelyEnjoy working in team-based environmentEducation: Bachelor's Degree in Communications, English, Public Relations or related field, or the equivalent preferred or 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a health care setting.Excellent oral/verbal communication and customer service skills required. PC skills including Microsoft Office required.
