Job Description:
The Patient Care Representative manages the day to day front desk operations to ensure quality patient care, uphold and promote the companys business processes and values relating to innovative and superior eye care.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Greets patients as they arrive at the office in a friendly and professional mannerCollects and verifies patient data for accuracy and completenessCreates and sustains a highly accountable and inspired work environment where employees deliver exceptional customer service and patient care.Checks patients in and out and schedules any needed appointmentsDirects patients, vendors, visitors, customers and the general public as appropriateMaintain accurate documentation in the patients EMRFaxes and requests faxes of patient chart notes from satellite officesMaintain waiting room environment, appearance and patient comfortMonitors patient flow and track patient wait times efficientlyOpens daily patient accounting controls, posts charges and closes controlsSchedules future appointments in adherence to policies and proceduresDirectly addresses or transfers all incoming calls from within and outside the officePerform other duties as assigned by supervisorMinimum QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED1-3 years of Healthcare reception related experienceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work both independently and as a team playerAbility to work in a fast paced environmentAttention to detail and time managementCPR desired, but not preferredHIPAA knowledge and compliancePhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
