The Brooklyn Campus provides acute inpient medical and surgical services with a major affiliion with SUNY-Health Science Center - Brooklyn. The St. Alban's campus houses a community living center as well as outpient services. Scope of Assigned Duties: The ADPCS/NE is a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and is the top executive within nursing services. The incumbent is the chief spokesperson for organized nursing services and is the calyst for the integrion and collaborion of nursing with other professional disciplines and functional areas in the mutual achievement of optimal Veteran centered organizional goals. The ADPCS/NE is a key leader in stregic planning, organizion assessment, and program development. The ADPCS/NE participes with the ELT and stregic thought leaders in the facility to initie and execute planning and decision-making processes. They have the authority and responsibility for establishing standards for the practice of nursing the health care system level ensuring the continuous and timely availability of quality nursing services. The ADPCS/NE is responsible for the practice of nursing 24/7. This includes all registered nurses, advanced practice nurses, and allied health staff (LPNs, NAs, etc.) regardless of line authority. They have line authority over the Deputy Associe Director Pient Care Services (DADPCS)/ Deputy Nurse Executive, Sterile Processing Service (SPS), Chaplain Service, and Social Work Service (SWS). The incumbent exercises final authority and approval for the following: job descriptions, policies, and procedures; standards of pient care, trement, and services; nursing practice standards; staffing plans; functional stements; and standards to measure, assess, and improve pient outcomes.
