Job Description:POSITION SUMMARYCoordinates high quality patient care on assigned unit(s)/service. Provides staff support through facilitation, coaching, and role-modeling leadership behaviors, which enhance quality patient care, safety for staff/patients, excellent customer service, and fosters employee development.ACCOUNTABILITIES*All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise*1. Coordinates all patient care activities, fostering departmental standards of care and positive patient outcomes.2. Manages shift operations related to patient flow, staff assignments, bed control, and rounding with care team members to facilitate meeting patient care needs.a. Facilitates and leads Daily Transition Rounds (DTRs).b. Serves as the primary lead ensuring effective flow and communication with the care team to include but not limited Care Navigation, Providers, RNs, Charge Nurses, PT/OT, etc.3. Leads the team in meeting service needs of patients and their families to provide positive patient experience.4. Serves as the clinical expert for technical and professional standards of care to ensure high quality of care.5. Provides preceptorship, coaching, and/or identifies learning needs with action plans for employees to foster a positive team environment and competent professionals.6. Assists Clinical Managers in performance reviews including coaching, monitoring, and disciplinary action.7. Maintains current knowledge of regulatory compliance and teaches the employees to achieve compliance as a measure of high-quality patient care, including continuous process improvement methodologies.a. Facilitates daily review of quality initiatives to ensure compliance and standardization.8. Demonstrates appropriate communication skills with maintained open communication, fosters positive teamwork, and ensures patient confidentiality.9. Assists the Clinical Manager with development and review of departmental policies and procedures; goals and objectives, departmental metrics, standards of care, environmental and infection control standards, and dedicated protocols to promote quality of care delivery.10. Responsible for shift productivity metrics and expenses in collaboration with the Clinical Manager.11. Assists Clinical Manager with new employee orientation in coordination with Workforce Development.12. Facilitates and coordinates departmental educational needs in coordination with Workforce Development and Clinical Manager.13. Accepts responsibility for own practice and professional development and continuing education.14. Provides direct care as needed.15. Performs all other duties as assigned.Job Requirements:REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Bachelor's Degree required or must be obtained within 3-year time frame. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.Skills: Problem-solving, organizational skills, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills. Must be able to function independently and as an integral member of various teams. Must display a commitment to customer satisfaction.Years of Experience: Must have a minimum of 2 years in nursing in a patient care areaLicense: Must be an RN with a current licensure in the State of OhioCertification: BLS, ACLSPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Master's degreeWORKING CONDITIONSPersonal Protective Equipment: Demonstrates knowledge and use of standard precautions andPPE. Demonstrates knowledge and use of safe patient handling equipment.Physical Demands:Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, temperature changes, and exposure to blood borne pathogens and bodily fluids. Must be able to attain all health requirements as identified by the organization (i.e., PPD, respirator training, vaccines, as appropriate). Must be able to move about hospital and between workstations, and prolonged periods of standing. Must be able to frequently move, lift or carry light to heavy patients or equipment. Must be able to lift medium materials, non-material handling, continuous standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching; frequent pushing, pulling, and squatting.
