Performs patient check-in/check-out functions to include answering phones, collection of over-the-counter payments, scheduling of appointments, insurance prior authorizations, medical billing/coding support, record scanning, and performs other duties as required.
Education: Minimum high school or G.E.D. equivalent, additional college, technical training, or on job experience preferred. Completion of coursework for Medical billing or medical assistant would be an advantage.
Experience with multi-line business phones systems
Working knowledge of EMR/EHR systems (Athena)
Possesses the tact to deal effectively with patients, physicians and other employees in the practice.
Effective communicator in person, by phone, and through electronic correspondence.
Ability to multi-task in busy environment and cross-train on other office roles
Preferred Skills:
Multilingual applicants a plus - Spanish, American Sign, etc.
Recent experience and patient contact responsibility in a medical setting
Job Types: Part-time (12-20hrs/wk, + leave coverage), Full-time
