A Brief OverviewUnder the general supervision of the Director, Manager, and Patient Care Coordinator. Responsible for providing hygienic care and assigned tasks for assigned patients based on specific needs. The Cross-Training Employee COHORT is short-term 12-week pilot initiative designed to help internal employees grow internally through coaching, mentoring and on the job training.
What you will do- Assists Nurse with new admissions, by taking vital signs, obtaining weights, and assist patient such as, with gown, placing telemetry leads add boxes as necessary, and setting up patient room. •Ambulates and/or transfer appropriate patients as needed. •Collects and accurately documents intake and output. •Assists with transporting patients as needed.
- Assists with keeping department tidy by stocking, cleaning such as, rooms, breakroom, microwave, refrigerator, med room, dirty rooms, linen room, and equipment room.
- Responsible for documenting: caregiver rounding, ADLs, intake and output (meals, bowl movement, urine), mouthcare, peri and/or Foley care, vital signs (per unit specification), and patient weights, refrigerator temperatures, and completing quality controls on glucometer.
- Answers call lights to assist patient as needed.
Qualifications- High School High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support BLS certification must be obtained within the orientation period, and certification must be kept current while in this position.
- Competencies for this cohort must be demonstrated during the allotted orientation period (in person classes and health stream courses).
- Previous related experience preferred, but may be trained by qualified personnel on the unit. Preferred
